Einar Ronander - B. Sc (Physics), M. Sc(Physics) and Ph. D (Physics & Chemistry)

Dr. Ronander started his working career at the Uranium Enrichment Corporation of South Africa (UEC) and the AEC in 1977 and soon after initiated the research into Molecular Laser Isotope Separation (MLIS). During the period 1980 to 1997 Dr. Ronander led teams to explore the different variations of Laser Isotope Separation; MLIS, AVLIS, and CHEMLIS as well as centrifuge process technology. He also participated in the construction and operation of the South African uranium enrichment facilities based on the Vortex or Stationary-Wall technology. During his tenure with the UEC, Dr. Ronander also led joint development efforts with French government development teams as well as the Russian Spectroscopy Group at Troisk. Subsequently, after the cessation of the enrichment programs at the AEC, Dr. Ronander formed Klydon together with other lead scientists from the organization, with the approval of the relevant government agencies. Dr Ronander is presently the Chief Executive Officer of Klydon.

Hendrik Strydom - B. Sc (Physics & Mathematics), M. Sc (Physics) and Ph. D (Physics)

Dr. Strydom started his career at the South African Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in 1982 in the Applied Spectroscopy Division. There he specialized in the grain-boundary diffusion of metals and Ni-based alloys. His research focused on surfaces, interfaces and structures of electronic materials using Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS), Auger Electron Spectroscopy (AES) and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS). Dr. Strydom joined the AEC in 1990 where he focused on the Atomic Laser Isotope Separation (AVLIS) of lithium, including copper vapour lasers, dye lasers, atomic spectroscopy and electromagnetic product extraction. In 1993 he became the project leader for the Molecular Laser Isotope Separation (MLIS) research laboratory. In 1996 he became the Research and Development Manager of the first MLIS pilot plant. Subsequently, after the cessation of the enrichment programs at the AEC, Dr. Strydom formed Klydon together with Dr. Ronander. Dr. Strydom is presently the Chief Technical Officer of Klydon.

Carel Swart - B. Sc (Eng) Industrial

Mr Swart started his career at Iscor (now ArcelorMittal South Africa) as an industrial engineer in 1974. He gained experience in industrial design and feasibility studies for the steel and stainless steel industry, focusing on optimisation of steel making processes from blast furnaces, to basic oxygen furnaces, electric arc furnaces, steel continuous casting and rolling mill plants. In later years moved to international financing for steel making projects, marketing of steel products, and setting up agency agreements in 5 countries. Mr Swart has ten years experience in feasibility studies for large mining and minerals projects mostly in Africa, dealing with exploration, mine planning, refinery design, infrastructure design and costing, as well as environmental studies and securing of finance. Some of these projects were then developed to full execution and Mr Swart became the Chief Technical Officer for Nikanor, an AIM listed copper and cobalt mine in Katanga province, DRC and played a key role in setting up operational structures for ongoing operations for Nikanor. Mr Swart is presently the Commercial Officer of Klydon.

Le Roux Strydom - B.Sc Hons (Physics); M.Sc (Physics); Ph.D (Physics); M.Sc (Engineering & Technology Management)

Dr Strydom started his career as a materials scientist in 1982 at the CSIR's Division of Materials Science & Technology, focusing on the study of surface treatments of metals and alloys. He became manager of the Advanced Materials Programme in the same Division in 1993, and eventually reached the position of Technology Manager of the Materials Science & Technology Division where he gained significant experience in the funding and management of research and development programmes. In 1999, Dr Strydom joined Iscor Ltd (now ArcelorMittal South Africa) as Group Manager: Technology, where he was responsible for the in-house research and development group activities as well as external R&D programmes sponsored by the company. Dr Strydom then joined The New Reclamation Group during 2005 as General Manager: Business Development of the group of companies in the metals recycling and trading business, primarily responsible for the evaluation and development of new business opportunities and down-stream value addition opportunities for the secondary ferrous and non-ferrous metal products. Dr Strydom was appointed as a member of the executive committee of the group. Dr Strydom led and successfully completed the acquisition of two other secondary metal trading and manufacturing companies into the group, and represented the Reclam group on the boards of several subsidiary companies. Dr Strydom is presently the Managing Director: Stable Isotope business division of Klydon.
