Applications of Isotope Separation

Methane Harvesting

  • The Carbon Dioxide molecule is currently the most talked about, written about, published about, and planned about chemical compound on the globe.
  • The global reliance on fossil fuel for energy production generates 26.5 billion tonnes of CO2 emission per annum (2007), 79.9% from coal and oil and 19.8% from gas.
  • The predicted devastating effects of global warming fanned by the increasing atmospheric CO2 concentration have arrested the thinking and opinion of politicians, scientists, and businessmen and this matter is high on the agenda of all responsible governments.
  • Natural gas and methane gas produce ~50% less CO2 per power output required. A migration of energy source from oil and coal to gas (and nuclear) in the energy mix is thus a logical consequence.
  • The sources of natural gas and methane gas that require chemical cleanup (gas separation) upon harvesting prior to energy production is vast.

The proprietary ASP separation technology of Klydon elegantly separates the unwanted species from methane at commercially attractive costs.
